Meet our owner, Alex Gouzounis.

Alex has a strong interest in marine and tropical aquarium management based upon his own personal hobby.  The aquarium fauna consists of substantial marine species, including saltwater fish, a sizable collection of marine corals, and marine invertebrates.  Freshwater species consists of a sizable collection of Cichlids, Angel Fish and Bettas.  Alex has been engaged in aquarium management for over 30 years.

Alex has worked in the Aquarium business most of his adult life and has managed Advanced Aquatics since 2014. His prior experience included over twelve (12) years experience at a large retail franchise in Connecticut, with direct responsibility for management of the marine and tropical fish department.  Alex also has an additional two years experience working at a smaller tropical fish store in Massachusetts.

About our Business.

Alex’s Advanced Aquatics is a business which supports hobbyists and is intended to develop environmentally-sound aquariums, sensitive to the potential ecological dangers of the aquarium hobby worldwide.  Our motto will be “A successful hobbyist is a good customer.”

Alex’s Advanced Aquatics main goal is to offer its customers a way to properly develop, operate and manage to pursue their aquarium hobby.  Depending on the needs of the client, they can go step by step along with us, or simply come to us for portions of their needs and obtain needed advice.  Our service can be used for a range of needs, from those who have never had an aquarium before and need step by step help, to someone who is an expert but does not have time to do everything.  We will tell our clients the truth and not let them get something that will not thrive in their specific tank environment.

Although we stock a broad range of products, we understand and can accomodate your needs if it's not in stock.

We take special orders of livestock, corals or equipment and can generally have them within a week. Let us know!
